The Real Food Project
Our mission is to help people improve their health through eating real food, low-toxic living, and nervous system regulation. We know how difficult and overwhelming it is to start making big lifestyle changes, so we’re here to help!
We have created a comprehensive holistic health directory & toolkit where you can find the following:
- Holistic living tips
- Recipes
- Real food sources (free of toxic seed oils and artificial ingredients)
- Pasture raised meats, wild caught seafood, etc
- Raw dairy, A2/A2 dairy, & low-temp pasteurized dairy
- Non-toxic skincare, haircare, and household items
- Cookware items
- Salt, seasonings, electrolytes
- Barefoot style & grounding shoes
- Clothing brands (with natural fabrics)
- Biohacking tools (blue light/EMF protection, red light therapy, etc)
- Nervous system support tools
- & more
*All foods/products in our directory are free of industrial seed oils such as canola oil, soybean oil, vegetable oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, etc—as we believe the overconsumption of seed oils are major contributor to the global rise of chronic and mental illness.
*Most of our food/dairy/snack recommendations are in line with the dietary guidelines from the Weston A. Price Foundation, which a portion of our proceeds are donated to (as we believe their work is so important).
*Please note that this website is a great resource for those following the GAPS diet, carnivore diet, animal-based diet, ancestral diet, paleo diet, keto diet, low carb diet, and anyone looking to improve the way they eat. Not all recommended products within the directory will fit within each of those diets, so always be sure to check ingredients before purchasing to make sure its a good option for you.
We are regularly researching and adding to our directory to make it as informative and helpful as possible. Please reach out to us if you have any suggestions, tips, or feedback for the Real Food Project! We would love to hear from you.
Our Story
Our founder, Rachael Elizabeth (aka “Ribeye Rach”) is passionate about animal-based nutrition, low-toxic living, and nervous system regulation. When Rachael was 20 years old, she become severely ill and was diagnosed with many chronic illnesses including ehlers-danlos syndrome, chiari malformation, dysautonomia, intracranial hypertension, chronic lyme disease, and more. Doctors told her she would be sick for the rest of her life, and that full recovery wasn’t possible.
She tried many treatments, including major neurosurgeries—but none brought lasting improvements. When Rachael was at her sickest, she was essentially bed-bound.
In the year 2021, she started looking for more alternative and natural methods for healing, and came across the carnivore diet and brain retraining (through a program called DNRS). Both dietary changes and nervous system regulation techniques have contributed greatly to Rachael’s recovery. She’s now thriving, and believes she will recover from her illnesses 100%. While she’s not doing a strict carnivore diet anymore, she follows more of an “animal-based” or “Westin A. Price” approach and continues to view eating real food as medicine.
Rachael created the “Real Food Project” in 2023 as a resource for those looking to find products and tools to improve their health. We want to share the importance of eating real food to all who are willing to listen!
Healing from chronic illness is possible—and we will continue to shout that from the rooftops!
